Incidence Projections Remain Too High
All numbers are projected to oscillate around a plateau in the North America and Europe
While North America and Europe should see numbers at too-high levels to give the disease free range in society, Tunisia might see incidence drop below danger level. But, possibly owed to the abysmally low vaccination rate, hospitalisations and mortality are projected to remain high. This said, Tunisia did have a spike in new (1st) vaccinations and maybe this is the beginning of a new trend.
In the USA, the new Omicron subvariant BA2.12 is spreading and will increase numbers there. This variant will, in most likelihood, spread to other places.
These are anything but good news and, together with the recently declared global health emergency of monkeypox, should make us become more vigilant for the coming autumn and winter months.

I am in Québec, where data are very similar to those in the countries I have touched during my recent travel. So I keep on my mask while being inside because I do not, in any way, agree with what many people "feel": namely, that Covid is just like the flu.
You can get the flu only once in a long period and that only during the winter.
You can get Covid possibly every other month, and that year round.
In addition, when you get sick, you are becoming one of the too many people who are out of the workforce, thus putting a damper on your country's economy.
